About Dr. Slochowsky

Dr. Slochowsky is a licensed clinical psychologist living and working in New York State. A born and bred New Yorker, she attended the University of Maryland for her undergraduate education, where she received a Bachelor’s of Science in Psychology and a minor in Human Development. There, she solidified her passion and desire to become a psychologist and work with women after volunteering in a women’s domestic abuse shelter for a year and a half. While attending LIU Post for her Master’s in Applied Psychology and Doctorate in Clinical Psychology, she worked in a wide array of settings in New York. She completed her doctoral internship at Northwell Health’s Zucker Hillside Hospital focusing on women and geriatric populations, and completed a postdoctoral fellowship at Montefiore Medical Center in Primary Care Health Psychology.

Dr. Slochowsky is passionate about working with women. Psychology as a science was created by men for men, and historically women’s issues were inappropriately pathologized. Many of the challenges that face women are often overlooked in the psychological world, and Dr. Slochowsky aims to ensure that women receive the care that they need and deserve.
